ImpacGard® Applications

ImpacGard® prepreg can be applied as single or multiple plies during parts manufacturing or later as a post manufacturing parts facing and is applicable to most substrates.

ImpacGard® technology used in the transportation segment is applicable to fuselage, wing, panel, door, fuel tank, side-impact protection, bumper, hood, fender and hull protection. Construction applications include bridge and building column retrofits, tunnel seal liners, storm fences and shelters. ImpacGard® has multiple uses in sporting goods applications.

UD-CCM and Kubota Research jointly presented ImpacGard® research for composite impact protection at the COMPOSITES 2006 Convention on October 18-20, 2006. The presentation won the best testing paper award given by the American Composites Manufacturers Association.

ImpacGard® was exhibited at the International Plastic Fair in Tokyo in 2005, at the JEC Composites Show in Paris in 2006 and at FC Expo in Tokyo on Feb. 27-29, 2008.
